Business Retention and Expansion Task Force

The Business Retention and Expansion Task Force, formed in 2016, is a group of Mesquite’s core stakeholder organizations – Mesquite Economic Development (part of the City of Mesquite); Mesquite Independent School District (MISD), specifically Career and Technical Education; Dallas College, specifically Eastfield Campus; Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas and the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce.  

Keeping the focus on our shared goals and working hand-in-hand, our partnership delivers platforms and programs for all areas of industry.  We work to empower the people that drive the Mesquite economy – whether it be the share-holder, the worker, or the solo entrepreneur.  

Partnership services include:

• City of Mesquite - Real estate/location information, development partnership opportunities, development process liaison, promotional opportunities, and referrals.  
• Dallas College - Customized training, student workers, career building, employee and business development, access to funding and facilities.  
• Mesquite Chamber of Commerce - Business to business networking, referrals, community history and knowledge, promotional opportunities.  
• Mesquite Independent School District - Young skilled workers, workforce pipeline, training, and internship partnership opportunities.
• Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas - Active job seekers, workforce assessment, business consulting, skills training, job fairs, access to funding.
