Mesquite BRE Taskforce Brings Industry Leaders Together for Safety Forum

The Mesquite Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Taskforce hosted the city’s first Industrial Safety Forum on Thursday, September 18, at the Dallas County Mesquite Government Center. The event brought together industrial stakeholders representing approximately 4.5 million square feet of industrial space in Mesquite and nearly 4,000 local jobs across their operations.
Police Chief Gill and Fire Chief Hopkins, along with their teams, delivered a comprehensive presentation on industrial safety protocols and emergency preparedness.
The event welcomed 31 participants representing ten major companies:
- Fritz Industries
- Vehicle Accessory Group (VAI)
- Canadian Solar
- Hithium
- Owens Corning
- Elements International
- Smurfit Westrock
- Prime Healthcare/Dallas Regional Medical Center
- General Dynamics – OTD
- RJW Logistics
Industry leaders expressed interest in holding quarterly gatherings, with the next session to focus on Workforce Development, to be hosted by Mesquite ISD’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) department.
